Nenagh AFC 'B' 2 - Rearcross U-13's 5

Rearcross travelled to Nenagh on Sat. morning for their last league game of the season and came away with all 3 points. The game started at a lively pace and Nenagh scored the first goal of the contest with just 2 minutes on the clock when the Rearcross rearguard were caught at sixes and sevens. Rearcross were back on level terms after 20 minutes when a clearance from the Nenagh defence found the unmarked Pat O Toole 25 mts. from goal and he struck the ball first time to score a sweet goal. The first half finished all even at 1 goal apiece. The second half started similar to the first with Nenagh first to attack and they were rewarded after 3 minutes taking the lead again after a well worked goal. However Rearcross were back on level terms after10 minutes when the hard working Grace O Toole scored her first goal of the season.Nenagh created the next scoring chance and looked certain to score but Pat Carroll in goal brought off an excellent save and from his long clearance Nenaghs defence were caught on the half way line and as they watched the ball sail over their heads Conor Nolan was first to react as he raced onto the ball he kept his composure and slotted to the keepers left. Rearcross went on to totally dominate the remaining 10minutes of the game. Adam Hurley scored from the penalty spot after 20 minutes. 2 minutes later the same player laid back a lovely pass from near the end line to Aoife Nolan who looked certain to score but the home keeper brought off an excellent save. Adam Hurley doubled his tally for the day in the last minute when his powerful free kick went in just under the crossbar giving the keeper no chance.
